Have you noticed that some of the business pages you manage or follow on Facebook have changed once again? On June 5th, all business pages will be receiving this new design treatment. Are you and your small business prepared for the change?
Many existing business pages already have been converted to this new ‘streamlined’ look based on popularity, number of likes and other factors. If your particular page does not have the new look just yet, do not worry. Within the coming week, you should be converted over to the new look. If you have not seen the brand new Facebook design for business pages, take a look below.
Clearly, the cover photo dimensions have been revamped and the distribution and organization of content and business information has shifted.
Facebook has stated that the purpose of the business page redesign is to provide users with a streamlined design that will make it easier for users to find the tools they need. The most notable changes are the right-hand, single column news feed and shift of business information to the left-hand column. When you share information and content with your fans, it will show up on the right side of your page. Any apps you employ, comments or reviews you receive from users/customers, and updated business information will be placed in the left side of your page.
Businesses should take this opportunity to ensure that their business information is up to date. If your customers need to contact you or a potential client is searching for your location, they will look to your business page for that information.
In addition, with the change in application display, try to design simple, yet eye-catching, app icons for your business page. Your cover photo size will change too, so be ready to design a brand new cover photo for your page or simply rework the existing photo.
